Testing out of A&P I

I'm getting ready to go back to school for nursing. I have an associates in applied science, but I graduated in 1996. I have been working as a medical transcriptionist since then. For our local nursing program, the A&P must not be older then 5 years. I can either retake A&P I or try and test out. I got a B in A&P I and an A- in A&P II. Just wondering if anyone has tested out and how difficult it was. I really do not want to have to retake it plus pay for it again! Any info is greatly appreciated!:)

I guess you could always try to test out and then if you don't pass the test re-take the class.

Good luck

I tested out and then took accelerated A&P II. Very hard and time consuming. I did it and passed with a B, but my life was pretty much all A&P II for 6 weeks. Also I felt frustrated because I had forgotten so much. But in the long run it worked for me.

Good luck in school. Beth

Definitely try to test out! That's why they have the tests, I think - for people that already have the knowledge. Since you've already taken it before, a good, thorough review should be all you need to refresh your memory.

Good luck!

Thanks for all of the info/ideas. I'm waiting to hear back on what classes I might need to retake/test out of. I was just wanting to see if anyone said OMG, DON'T TRY TO TEST OUT...TOO HARD!! :D Let's hope I don't have to retake a bunch of classes...if so, I may wait another year for our other c.college to bring up their nursing program since that is where I graduated from in 1996 and all of my former classes would transfer over. Now just the long wait! Thanks again!
