To rent or not to rent?

So tonight I printed out all of the books i am going to need for this semester. For all of my pre-reqs I usually just rented my books for the semester and then turned them in after finals , saved hundreds on doing this because i really didn't need to keep those books when i was done. So now as i start in nursing school i wonder if i should do the same or buy my books , will i use my pharm , med surg, books ever again? There are also a ton of little pamphlets and health assessments book with the lab book and the nurses pocket guide.... ok im rambling but you guys get my point. Any vets have some advice id really appreciate it.

thanks in advance:uhoh3:

If u want my option, you should buy & keep your own books. U will never know when u have to refer back to your books. Especially when u need to take your test to get you license. :yeah:

I bought my books and am glad I did. They cost a TON, but I've highlighted the crap out of those books and I went back maaaany times in my second year to reference first year books in papers. I'll be starting my BSN and I'm sure I'll get use out of them too. I want to be able to look back if I forget a disease or forget a procedure.

What about Pathophysiology? Should I rent or buy for patho? am I going to need that book to refer back to? I am buying the fundamentals 8 book set, davis drug guide, am psych manual, blah blah blah. I'm buying one book in eformat for my kindle app on my netbook, cultural competencies or something like that...

It'd probably be in your best interest to purchase these books and hold on to them. I always bought pre-owned books for my pre-reqs and if they were new, I'd sell them after the semester to get a little extra cash. Do what you feel is in your best interest though. I know I plan on purchasing and keeping all of my NS textbooks. You can always use them as reference later on down the road, for any purposes. When all is said and done, I think we'll all get our money's worth. :)
