Can anyone give me advice on a good general pocket guide?

I am looking or something that has normal value ranges, ABGs, positions, etc.

I absolutely love my RNotes Clinical pocket guide. I bought mine at my campus bookstore for the convenience but here's a link to check it out.

It has lots of assessment and basic information that is GREAT to have around.

I repeat the person above

RNotes: Nurse's clinical pocket guide!!! It is really comprehensive and its all you really need to know to be on the floor!

Here is a link to the 2nd edition

Rnotes: Nurse's Clinical Pocket Guide [RNOTES 2/E]: Amazon.com: Books

If you buy the third edition its about $10 more but with about the same information. Save your money

and buy it one edition earlier!

I didn't even realize there was a new edition, I didn't pay any attention. Yeah, definitely get the edition down. This is basic information that is NOT going to change. I bought mine a year and a half ago and haven't regretted it once.

Can you please tell me if the RNotes has lab values in SI? I live in Canada, and need SI units. Thank you! I am seriously considering buying this guide

That's good to know! I assumed that the information would have changed, since the 2nd edition was published in 2006 whereas the 3rd edition was published in 2010.

Has anyone heard of "RN Pocket Guide"? What about "Medsurg Notes"? Along with the book mentioned in the first post, which one would you recommend out of the three?
