OK any help here would be greatly appreciated! Relate the effects of parenteral fluids upon fluid distribution and subsequent nursing considerations. Thanks in advance!

This sounds like a homework question.

In general, when making inquiries for school assignments, it's best if you post specific, focused questions that address gaps in the knowledge you have obtained from reading and studying. When people post broad, general requests that start with defining the basic concepts, it looks like they want someone else to give them information that they should be gathering on their own.

There's nothing quite like that, "Aha!" moment when a pile of dry facts comes together in your mind and you finally get it. Most allnurses.com members love to assist others in that quest. At the same time, we don't want to rob people of their own essential learning experience.

You are far more likely to get a helpful response if you post defined questions and any possible answers you have come up with thus far. That will help us to know best how to assist you.

Actually, this is a learning objective (which all our test questions come from) and I have searched high and low through my textbook for the answer regarding how it effects distribution and cannot find an answer specific to parenteral fluids. If it seems broad to you, imagine what it seems like to me when there is nothing in our notes from lecture and I re-listened to the lecture to make sure I didn't miss anything that our instructor discussed about this topic and she said we ran out of time, so just look for it in our text, which I cannot find. So if anyone can point me in the correct direction, that would be appreciated. I searched online and on this website and haven't found anything specific to distribution of parenteral fluids. Thank you.

OK - I'll attempt to help...here we go...

Giving someone fluids affects the overall fluid balance of the body and can cause electrolyte shifts - which in turn can cause other problems. Start searching for answers based on that, and see if you have any more luck.

Post back if you have more questions. Personally I think that objective is rather poorly written!
