Can someone explain the difference between the NCLEX and NET test? Which one is harder? Should I apply @ a school that gives NET ? Any replies are appreciated.

Update: I messed up...NLN compared to NET

The NCLEX is the test you take for your license to practice nursing.

The NET test is a pre-admission test into a nursing program which has mathematics, reading comprehension. The school I go to requires the NET for the RN program and the PSB for the LPN program.

Specializes in OB-Gyn/Primary Care/Ambulatory Leadership.

Yes, the NCLEX is all about nursing.

The NET is nothing about nursing. It's just reading comprehension and math (mostly basic arithmetic as well as converting decimels to fractions to percentages).

Sorry, missed your edit. I don't know what the NLN is.

Specializes in critical care; community health; psych.

The NLN is vastly more difficult than the NET and has a different format. The NLN got me into nursing school. The NET was administered after admission to determine our learning style and expose strengths and weaknesses. Passing the NCLEX is the prize goal for all of us at the end of our school journey. And yes, it is HARD!!!
