  1. I agree with you on this. I think the greatest job I will ever have as a nurse is being a servant to others in need. Servant does not mean waitress, but rather having a servants heart = loving people and humbling oneself. To me this is the greatest work we could ever do for Him. I figure if Jesus can wash someone's feet, hey, don't you think I should too?? :)
  2. I know many people that are in the same situation. I applied to both RN and LPN and got into the LPN program. I see this as a blessing, since MANY students flunk the RN program--they seem to weed out badly... I rather take baby-steps gracefully than running, just to fall on my face Confidence comes with experience and successes, so if you start small, get really good at what you are doing, you can take on more challenges, right?! Your love for nursing is what really matters, btw. I see so many students that are only in it for the $$$... that's so sad I think. Best of luck to you!

  4. Again, I have a "dumb student" question for you wise nurses--I do feel so ignorant sometimes :imbar ... How do you become specialized in a particular field, like Psych/ ICU/ etc. ? Do you have to take X-amount of Psych classes and get a certification in the field? Thank you for helping me to become more educated
  5. I'm in Jacksonville! What school are you going to? I just got into the LPN @ Coastal, but I'm planning on doing the Bridge RN in New Bern. Got any advice for me, or where I should apply for the RN program?
  6. I was born and raised in Germany and married an American in 91'. I don't think they offer a nursing program, however, you can take your pre-req's --the military does offer classes for spouses. Things might have changed, and who knows, maybe the military hospital offers @ least CNA classes, so you can get practice. I was a nursing student in a German hospital, had college etc. and had to get my GED in the states and start all over. But, be happy, Germany is nice to visit. I do love the USA though--that's were my heart is. :) Have a nice time!
