Paying for Nursing School?!

I truly need help paying for my tuition, books, supplies, etc. What are some financial resources for nursing students? Where can I find scholarships? I did check the NSNA. Or how did you do it? I do have pell grants, but it's only covering a small amount and I really can't use more loans. Please help! Thank you!!:uhoh3:

Anything you can trim? Cable/eating out/etc?

I just sold sold a bunch of my old clothes to Plato's Closet and got a decent amount. I also just sold a bunch of my Coach bags on ebay too. I don't have cable and moved into cheap student housing to cut costs.

Thank you for your suggestions. Yes, I have trimmed everything. I'm actually in need of clothes...platos wouldn't take mine due to wear and tear (most of mine really don't fit me anymore or have been worn out over the years). I don't have cable and my living expenses are very minimal. I'm hoping to find a scholarship, though some you have to pay to apply... I may have to find a good paying second job (waitressing perhaps), but I don't want to fall behind in school.

If you are doing the best you can to trim down your lifestyle, all that's left for additional help is online scholarships and such. I'm sorry, I don't know any specific site to address you to.

But if worse comes to worse, your loans are still in deferment (for a period of time even after you graduate), so you won't have to pay back right now. Also, would it be possible to do part time? So you can get another job on the side? Or even get a nursing job so you can get paid and get experience at the same time?

Waitressing sucks, but you make good money!! Treat everyone as nice as you would treat your best friend and keep a positive attitude. Don't begrudge people if they don't tip you; it's not worth it. If it isn't your main job, I highly recommend it. It doesn't give you the "right" experience, but it pays well. Good luck!

Yes, I'll have meet with an advisor soon. The tuition is double for nursing. I'm a CNA now.
