Hi, I'm going to be sending my Licensure by Examination application to the BON soon, and they say to enclose a 2x2 passport-type photograph. My question is, does it have to be a glossy photo? I could either do this at Walgreens for $8, or use epassportpictures.com for free... and with this ~$500 that I have to pay, I'd like to cut corners wherever I can...

I don't think it matters and it looks like the website prints them out and sends them to you anyway.
I checked out the website and it looks legit. However this is an asterisk next to "free" and nowhere on the page does it explain what it is for. It makes me wonder what they charge for S&H.

I was lucky and had recently applied for a passport before taking NCLEX so I had an extra. I don't think it's a big deal where you get the picture from -- it's not like the picture appears on your license.

Use epassportpictures.com! I paid $9.99 at Walgreens because I was in a rush to get those photos before my passport appointment last month. I like to cut corners whenever I can, and ouch did it sting to pay that. First of all, Walgreens uses a point-and-shoot camera. So nothing special about those pictures. They have software in the store that does the same exact thing epassportpictures.com does, except you pay a premium price for the service. Once I got my passport, I had to send more photos in for a visa so I did them myself. I stood in front of a white wall, took several shots, chose the one I liked, and sent them to Walmart. I paid $.12 for eight 2x2 photos.

Just get it done at Walgreens, I had friends who did that and they did not have any problems!

I'd just do Walgreens or something so you can see it and make sure it's the right parameters at the time it's taken so you can have it retaken free.
