Tell me what you can about the critical thinking tests you guys have been taking.
I think it's the same test we're going to be taking next monday.
I'm just curious what it's like, what types of questions they have on a test like that.

Ok I have no idea what you mean.
All of our nursing tests utilize critical thinking questions, but I never took a test that was just critical thinking skills....
Can you elaborate at all? Are you just starting a nursing program? Maybe its more of a skills survey?
Sorry I can't be more help to you.

I've seen a bunch of posts saying they have had to take the nursing entrance exam (or something similar) and then take a Critical Thinking test. My professor admitted this morning via email to all students that we will be taking the "Critical Thinking" test on Monday morning when we walk into class.
Sorry, but I have no idea. We didn't even have to take an entrance test, we were ranked according to our GPAs and ACT scores.

Our school uses the Arnett testing package--a series of 8 tests that are given at set times during your schooling--to see how you are progressing through the program. The Critical thinking test is given at the beginning of the program and the end of the program. Other tests Include a fundamentals test, a Med-surg test, Obstetrical, Pharmacology and Management...my understanding is that they are to see if you are on track to take the NCLEX...
The NET test or nursing entrance test is see if you qualify for the program. In our school you needed to have a certain score on the NET test to qualify and then the higher the score the more points you receive. We also received points for grades in the pre-rec classes and the people with the highest point totals got into the class

As far as I know the only test we will take is the Mosby's assesment test during the spring semester of our final year. Now that's not to say that we won't have a test. I guess I won't know until I get there. the critical thinking skills test I really can't help you with.

We didn't have to test to get into the program, but yesterday in class, the subject was "critical thinking" and it will be on our first exam. Sorry I am not much help.

I graduated in June from an 11th month program. Our instructors used critical thinking questions on the exams. They said it would prepare us for state boards. (have not taken mine yet) The questions also had 2 correct answers and we had to pick the one that was most correct out of 4 answers. Good luck.

alyssa, let us know how the test goes and all the best to you.
Thanks guys. I'm sure it's nothing major. More like an assessment of our current thinking skills than anything else, but I'll let you know.
