OB or Peds...which did you find harder?

I just finished my OB rotation today and begin Peds on Monday. I have always heard that OB was more difficult, however, some that just finished Peds say that it was tough.

Any thoughts?

wow I didn't know.

yep it is a small world.

I thought the Peds exams got easier but I would have to spend at least 10 hours a week preparing for them. The final was terrible though. OB does not have powerpoints so I don't know how I am going to like that.

Don't even get me started on the OB final...it was horrific and I have a feeling we may have lost quite a few people to it.

They posted the powerpoints that were used in class on WebCt for us, but much of the stuff they test on comes directly from the text rather than the PP, so be sure to review both.

Im nervous for OB...Ive heard that some in last years program have gotten C's..we arent allowed to have any C's or we get kicked out! Im really nervous bc OB is something I know I NEVER EVER want to do...I just know..so i'm not looking forward to the class AT ALL..which will make it that much harder for me...ugh..I am looking forward to Peds and PScyh...

Peds was great, just a spin off on the med-surg stuff we learned in the previous semester. And of course there were the theorists like Erikson and Piaget. Nothing too complicated honestly. The trickiest part for me was getting the reconstituting of meds down.

OB was not a big deal for me because I have experienced pregnancy and labor. So the concepts were not foreign to me, but of course I built on what I already knew. Clinical wise, OB was not that difficult. It's not like we actually delivered the babies or anything! lol. And the joys of the nursery... my fave part of my OB rotation!

My advice, go in with an open mind. Don't tell yourself one class is going to be more difficult than another and then stress stress stress about it. Next semester, when I start advanced med-surg, will someone please kindly remind me of my own advice? lol. ;)
