Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone else has started the application process for the Nurse Corps Scholarship program for the 2014-2015 school year. What are your stats if you don't mind me asking? Mine are EFC 0, from Tx, and GPA of 3.4. I wonder how many applicants will there be for this coming academic year. Feel free to ask any questions as well, we can help each other out.

I thought it would be but when I checked on my GPS Addison is about 45-50min on a good day and the Chicago campus is only 40 on a good day. I heard the traffic can get pretty bad so some people suggested just taking the train into the city since the station is not that far from me.

Yeah it depends on what time you're driving. If you have to be at school in the morning, you'll probably hit traffic and that could make your trip twice as long as what it says on the GPS. Traffic on the expressway (streets are even worse during the school year) makes my morning drive which usually takes 15 minutes....about 45min to an hour long. You should look at rush hour traffic patterns to compare Addison vs Chicago.

HI To All 2014-2015 Nurse Corps Scholarship Applicants

An answer to the question about when we should be receiving decision emails. We cannot look at or compare the 2013-2014 application cycle with ours because the Scholarship Reviewers had to turn in their score cards for the 2013-2014 applicants in the middle of June. That is why they received their decision emails in July of 2013. This time the Scholarship Reviewers had until July 8th to submit our score cards, therefore, we will not see any emails until August 30th the latest for those who will receive the scholarship and by September 30th for those who will not receive the scholarship. Hope this decreases some anxiety and good luck for all of us. FYI a friend of mine who knew someone who worked for HRSA said that since the scholarship is predominately need base, if the number of qualified applicants exceeds the amount of funds the can receive more funds to fulfill the need-as the stats tell in recent years if you look back at some of the years where the program estimated given say 240 awards but actually gave out 350(only using an example). Check previous award years to see for yourselves.

Hey folks I have been following another thread about this and someone received an email July 31st who is in an MSN program and has been accepted. She said her email stated she had until August 7 to accept. I think there may have been one other person who got one on July 31 as well. So I think it has started. Good luck. :)

I just got my acceptance for the scholarship and I say the 0 applicants as well
