Has anyone used the NRSNG academy and found it helpful? I am thinking of working a few doubles to save up for it if so. It was created by Jon Haws RN, BSN, CCRN and looking at testimonials and others posts about it on amazon/facebook, it looks promising. I'm by no means trying to make nursing school "easy" just trying to prepare myself for what I know will be an intense 18 months (or 2 years)

Hi Lorraine. :)

Hey, there's nothing wrong with seeking out resources that will help you understand things more easily. That's what led me to discover NRSNG Academy, as well.

I'll give you my honest opinion, since I too was researching it not that long ago, and unable to find a whole lot on the forums here.

My best advice is to SEEK OUT and WATCH videos on YouTube that are made by Jon first. Really decide if you like him and his teaching style. Because if you purchase the Academy, you'll be seeing a whole lot of him.

Also look at videos on Khan Academy and watch some of the "registerednurseRN" lady on YouTube -- ALL free content.

I will say this: NRSNG does a great job at marketing their product. I, too, was drawn in by the glowing testimonials. I got so excited to have this invaluable tool -- that I DID purchase the whole lifetime membership package on Amazon, without even doing the $1 trial.

Don't do that.

When I got into the Academy and started poking around, I was so disappointed. It really did not have a lot of the features I was looking for. I felt that his videos were sort of sloppy, his writing was sloppy, it was not at all what I was used to seeing from Khan Academy. I thought, oh well, I have already spent the money now so I might as well get what I can out of it.

But the final straw for me was when I could recognize errors in his teaching. He stated in one video that HIV was an autoimmune condition, which I knew even as a first-semester nursing student, it most certainly it is not. I emailed them about this discrepancy and inquired about getting a refund because the program just wasn't what I was looking for. I did not receive a response.

They did, however, give me a full refund when I sent them a message through Amazon. For that, I am very thankful. It was a ton of money and I felt like it was not well spent. It was not a good choice for me.

So I just encourage you to really do your research, check out all of the free resources that are available to us as nursing students. There is an awful lot out there that you don't have to pay a dime for.

Hey Lorraine-

Anna from NRSNG here! I would recommend test driving the Academy, we provide a 3 day $1 trial and if you don't feel like the program is what you're looking for you can cancel at anytime!

The program is really all inclusive. Designed to get to the heart of the material by going over the most crucial information in an easy to understand way. Our method of teaching cuts out a lot of the fluff that nursing school likes to add in.

On top of the courses you get great resources like pre made flash cards to study on the go, an image data base, and so much more

But the part that I seriously wish I had in school would be the SIMCLEX. This is the only thing of it's kind. It actually lets you simulate the NCLEX. It is an adaptive test that works just like the NCLEX does by increasing/decreasing the difficulty of questions by how well you are performing.

Please reach out to us at ANYTIME!...Happy Nursing!

I am a second semester student and I have not used the academy but I love their Scrub Cheats app!!! I use it constantly in class and clinical and well worth the $10. Check it out

They also have a podcast that I have found extremely helpful and convenient since I'm able to listen to it in the car thru my phone.

I haven't started nursing school yet, but bought into the program. I love it and feel it is a great tool to start learning labs, MedSurg, Pharmacology, etc.,...it's just everything I need and feel will be so helpful in school.

There are questions you can practice and even Sim-NCLEX. I haven't tried it yet though, I want to really build my knowledge.

Hey! Anna from NRSNG here. Unlike other NCLEX prep programs this program is designed to not only help with NCLEX prep, but also really get to the heart of the material by going over the most crucial information in an easy to understand way. Our method of teaching cuts out a lot of the fluff that nursing school likes to add in. I would recommend looking through the Academy during the trial, really get into the material and see if it is what your looking for. I of course think it is!

We have great customer service, when you email you will be responded to with in 14 hrs and we have live chat hours as well! We take pride in providing great customer service. If you do purchase through Amazon, you would need to request a refund through your Amazon account since Amazon took the payment.

We work very hard to provide the best and most accurate content, we provide a way to report any errors which we review and make any appropriate changes.

Happy Nursing!
