Nursing Students General Students

Published

Is any one on the board from around Tupelo MS.

Wow...such a host of Mississippians all under one cyber roof. I grew up in Hattiesburg and am now in the Nashville area. I'm a student still working on prereqs and have chosen nursing as a second career.

My sister is currently getting her FNP from USM and she's only had good things to say. She also got her BSN from USM. I also just heard that USM just bought part of the old Cloverleaf Mall to add on to their teaching space to let more people into the nursing program. Hopefully, they're doing something right.

Burntout...love Steal Magnolias too? I noticed your signature. I'm new to this BB and already met a bunch of Mississippians, a fellow Alias lover and a Steal Magnolia. What a wonderful end to a lazy day!

From what I heard when I was living in MS... Mississippi University for Women has a VERY VERY good nursing program.... I went there for several semesters working on Pre-Reqs before I moved out of state...

Thanks for your input! How'd you like the faculty/atmosphere at the "W"? I haven't even been over there for a meeting yet, but need to schedule one soon (was hoping to wait until my vacation time renewed here at work).

Cam - my pastor and some of his family are from/live in Hattiesburg. Also have some distant cousins there. Seems like a big change going from Hburg to Nashville (so HUGE!) :)

Manna.. Hey.. I didn't care for the school personally... It wasn't my place... its different, trust me thats all I will say... :) I don't think it would be so bad if you lived off campus and were just there for nursing... Cause the nursing people are kinda isolated from the rest of the school... I just hated living on campus...

Yeah, when I was younger and looking at going to colleges straight out of high school, I got a weird clique-ish feeling from the W students, but I don't know if that's what you're talking about or something else...

I'm married with two kids, so if I get accepted/enroll there, I'll be commuting from out of town. :)

Its great to see all of these people from MS.

manna what is a clique-ish feeling?

Yeah, if you aren't part of a social club then you are kinda left out.. Plus beings as the school is still "mostly" women, there tends to be alot of "loving" going on.. If ya catch my drift ;)

Hi burntout, Go figure something like that would happen. Do you plan on moving back to Mississippi or no way?

No plans on moving back right now. Hubby's job is here and we built a house 2 years ago, so we are here. But my family still lives in MS, so I go back and forth.:D
