Hi Tracy! This is Amy, from A&PII- just letting you know I'm thinking of you and sending positive thoughts for an easy lap and a quick recovery. Hopefully I'll see you next Thurs, in the meanwhile good luck with everything!
Thanks Amy! I had the surgery at 3:00 and was out by 7:30. I am super sore. It hurts to breathe, talk, move etc.. the Vicodin works well but makes me dizzy and nauseous. Hopefully tomorrow I can switch over to ibuprofen. I definately hope to be there Thursday. Can't have you miss your mid-term Ha ha!

That soreness should improve rapidly over the next 48-72 hours. Just remember to 'splint' your abdomen when you do your cough & deep breathing, or when you get up from sitting or lying in bed. And by all means, try the ibuprofen if Vicodin makes you sick to your stomach.......throwing up after a lap chole would be horrible (I was lucky, I had NO nausea or right shoulder pain after mine).
Best of luck to you for a quick recovery!

Wishing for a speedy recovery for you!!
I had 'phantom' gallbladder pain for a couple weeks following which was strange but episodes diminished then disappeared. Shoulder pain is prabably from the gas and they suggest walking to help it dissapate. I didn't have this at all with chole but did when I had lap abdominal surgery a few years ago.
