I want to congratulate my FA office...

For messing up my FA for the 3rd year in a row! Yes, they said it was up to date, everything was in, and I was ok! I even called the office and went in 3 times to make sure what happened last year didn't happen again.

Nope, they didn't have my loan application. So, I had to fill one out today and now have to wait 3 1/2 weeks for my loans. I don't know how many times I asked if that was all they needed, and I don't know how many times they said yes.

Is it just my school, or does it seem like every year I apply for FA, the format, forms etc.. are new or different?

Oh well, now I must wait.

I have the most superific financial aid person imaginable. In the words of one of my instructors, she can "find money under a rock". We are a small school though, so I guess we get a lot more individual attention about everything--not just financial aid. It's something I don't take for granted. I have had to deal with the bad ones when I was getting my pre-reqs.

Could you please send this person to Texas. I've had luck with my FA office, but I've had to fight for and appeal almost everything!

Your lucky!!! I know part of the problem is the large student pop, aprox 31,000...so we don't get any kind of personal attention. However, they need to have ppl who are use to processing FA, they tend to use students who are in the work program and they don't have the correct training to spot errors.

Oh well, it's done and now I have to wait 3 1/2 weeks

I do all my paperwork online and I usually get a letter in the mail about a week later letting me know if I was approved or not etc. I have not had any problems so far :uhoh21:
