Congrats on passing your 1st semester - it is difficult when you have a close friend who does not. I felt awful leaving my friend behind after my final yr of school to begin Uni - unfortunately her OP was not up to par.

We still get on like 2 peas in a pod however - - -

Your words echo my thoughts. Yesterday was my last day of nursing finals and, to my utmost and profound relief, I passed the first semester too. Like you, one of my dearest friends did not as well as another friend. There were a few others who also didn't make it but I don't know them as well. Our class is split into three groups who do clinical rotations at different times. These two students were in my group and we've been through a lot together..already. Both say they will try again. One of them was so distraught she thought about either quitting altogether or going for an LPN degree instead of RN but I think the instructor talked her into giving it another shot. It's a bittersweet feeling, isn't it? Happy that you passed but not happy about your friends.

Congrats to you on Passing and getting through Nursing school. I can't wait till I am all the way through.:) Yes it is Bitter sweet. I hope my friend tries again because she will make a great nurse. But she talked about doing something else.

Congrats to you. I know how you feel same thing happened to me. Talk about bittersweet. We stood in the parking lot crying our eyes out, by the next day she sounded so much better and will continue taking other classes until September. I felt better when I knew that she was ok and I know that she can do it. She will be a great nurse.

I didn't get through nursing school, slyhrtbt....I just passed the first semester of nursing. I have three more to go. I've always heard though, if you can get through the first part.....whew!

My Level I class lost 4 people that I know of. All of them had a 78 -79 average. One had a 79.9. Our school will NOT round up to an 80. I really hate it for them; they've all tried SO hard. Our school used to allow you to repeat one semester. That got changed this semester. Doesn't matter if you are in the 4th level; if you fail, you have to reapply and start all over. Waiting list is about 1 1/2 years.

Btw, heard that the "rounding up" rule is being changed next semester. Anything over 79.5 will be rounded up. That bites for my classmates this semester.

Well Catma Congrats on passing your first semester. It is a huge accomplishment. I heard tonight that 16 people did not pass. That is out of 75. and some dropped out before finals. That will be really weird going back to school and not seeing some of my friends there. But Big Congrats to all who passed their classes. Do not Underestimate the achievment you have accomplished. It is starting to sink in to me and I am starting to feel like celebrating. Still feel real bad for my friend and the others that didn't pass. Hey I have a month off from school and that is worth celebrating.

I'm jealous! A whole month off! I would KILL for a month off. We have 2.5 weeks and that's it. We'll be back in class and pouring over humongous books in the time it takes to shake a lamb's tail.

Hey I'm sorry you have to get back to school so soon. I see you live in Va. I grew up there and I'm actually jealous of you:) . I know what you mean by humongous book I have quite a stack of them myself. I'm just happy not to look at them for a little bit.

Well, I went out to lunch with two of my classmates to a Mexican restaurant to celebrate having passed the first semester. We sat down and made it clear to each other that the first person who said, "Right upper quadrant" or "Xiphoid process" was going to get a butt full of nachos, enema style. Haha

I'm going to treat myself to a movie!!
