i need some opinionated advice

Nursing Students General Students

Hello, so I've been a confused student for a while, I decided on nursing while attending community college for a while. Being that I had finished so many courses in the liberal major it seemed best I finished, that way id be aablee to transfer all my credits, since nursing schools are so picky. Based on the waiting list I was turnt off by the time it would take to graduate just with an associates so I did what I can and decided to just earn a bachelors and do accelerated or earn another associates and go straight to to my masters since id already have a bachelors.

I realize it seems like a longer path and possible expensive? to becoming a nurse but isn't it also kindve the same time since I could skip taking the bachelor course?

I also wanted to make my own money to pay for nursing school. I felt I had more of a backup career earning a bachelors and being able to get more opportunities to get more jobs so I could have more earning potential, but I don't know, what's allnurses opinion on the path I chose??

🙂

Ok I know you nurses are very intelligent individuals here but I'm not there.

Not where? Surely you don't mean not intelligent?

I didn't over look my post, as I thought I could freewrite on a message board. I did not intend on this message board as being an article post, in fact I just freewrote.

Also I took basic writing twice before, I have taken 2 college compositions classes and have written many academic papers. This however was a post I was looking for to find alittle advice, as I'm just abit overwhelmed and anxious and continuously going through school.

I'm sure everyone here understands the stress and anxiety in the pre-application, pre-nursing program phase of life, but that doesn't make it any easier to understand posted messages that are written badly, without reasonable sentence structure and without a recognized thought process. People are happy to offer advice when asked but you need to understand that it's on you to get your message across, be understood. No one expects someone to write like a Nobel Prize-winning author on a message board but we do expect to be able to know what the heck it is you are asking! Otherwise, how do you expect to get the advice you are seeking?

Also..., what does opinionated mean? Even though i have experience with writing and english, I don't have a strong vocabulary...

I don't know why you would want to use words without knowing their meaning. I also don't know why once you realized you didn't know the meaning of the word you were using you still didn't bother to use Google to find out what it is? Please don't take this the wrong way, but I think the problem may be that English is not your first language. If that's the case, you might want to prepare yourself as best you can for what nursing programs include, which means a lot of writing assignments using scientific and medical terminology.

This is meant as helpful advice, whether it's what you want to hear is something I can't control, but it's said truthfully. Good luck to you.

I speak no other language then English. I'm sorry, it seems like i can only get my point across to some of the users. I suppose I should've thought it through and used the dictionary to find a synonym for opinion. I suppose its my comfortable way of speaking English, however I'm sorry for my lack of sentence structure and/ or grammar.

I also didn't intend to say that i wasn't intelligent. I meant to say that I don't have not had any knowledge or experience with nursing yet as many of you do. Therefore some of the things you have learned; such as a certain way to talk, or a certain way of writing based on years of experience, I have not been exposed yet, if that is the case.

However thanks for the advice whether it was to help me or ...im not sure. I appreciate the time taken to give me some different perspectives. ☺

Urban Dictionary: Opinionated Opinionated. Someone who isn't afraid to give their personal opinion.

Of course you can free write. Allnurses is not the usual message board. We are a community of professionals that are here to help each other. We all free write here but we also use, for the most part, proper grammar and sentence structure. I use my phone and tablet, as well as my desktop, to post but I am careful when on my phone to post legible posts and avoid all my text talk...which is far quicker...LOL

Your post is difficult to understand and I can tell you are confused on the right path to take.

Tell us once again what your question us and what you want to achieve.

I believe I'm on the right path. It's just insecurities that probably have me doubting myself. Thanks for your effort to help. I appreciate it.
