I failed my first nursing test tonight and I failed it big! Makes me kind sad:(

I'm not in nursing school yet (August 2013) but if there is one overwhelming consensus that I have seen in all my research on being a nursing student it is, "You will fail a test!" You aren't alone. Just gives you more impetus to try harder and do better. Go kill it next time!

I'm sorry. I agree with what Lori said.

Talk to your professor, a different learning style maybe.

You'll do great next exam.

Totally and completely normal!! Nursing tests are completely different than any other tests I have taken. You gotta learn how to think critically. I highly suggest the Davis Success Series! They have one for each class. In addition, if your school uses ATI as for access to the nurse logic module.

I've been using the Pearson Review and Rationale books. I'm in the middle of my 3rd semester and Labor and Delivery just got me all confused. Thanks for the encouragement guys. It's nice to know I'm not in this alone.

aubgurl, don't let this get you down, nursing school is hard and I think most of us have failed a test or assignment in school. It doesn't mean you're going to be a bad nurse.

I'm starting my first RN job in Labour and Delivery next week, if you have any questions feel free to ask away.

Thanks Megan! I'll take you up on that. Congrats on the job!

I've failed tests before and managed to pull a B with the special nursing letter grade scales we use.

I had to adapt quickly after my first couple of tests because I realized how I studied before was not going to work for nursing school. Make sure you are not memorizing, that you are understanding the who, what, when, where and whys

I've done well on all my other nursing test (I'm in 3 semester) and am used to the style of tests. I just got all the stages of labor very confused in my head (mainly the 1 stage). And that was the majority of the test. I still have a B in the class though:)

I failed my first OB test too! It's a totally new world and I have never worked so hard to pass a class in the whole program but I made it through and so will you! Just have to study 10X harder!! I made a 62 on my first test and ended up passing with a B so it can be done! Let me know if you need any help
