Yes I did in deedy. $335.00 later. Egads and I still have five more books to buy. I am getting those next week. It will be another $200.00 at least if not a little bit more. I sure hope that we continue to use these books throughout the two years. I started reading my A&P book it looks so interesting I plan on reading the first chapter in each of my books. My online course will be available on the 19th so I will request my password and get started on it.

 :)

The price of books is so high. I think I spent around $500.00. I haven't even taken the plastic off the A&P book yet. But I have written almost all the papers I need for my psch class which is only 8 weeks long. I have one 2 page paper left to write and then I will have 4 tests in that class. I plan to read for my one nursing course. The syllabus indicates 1 chapter. The A&P and the other nursing course does not indicate reading anything yet. I am trying to relax also a little so that I can enjoy this last weekend.

Good luck when you start!!

Rhoana , you have probably said that before, but are you taking pre-reqs or are you in the program already? I'm taking pre-req's, 3 classes, just for classes I paid over $300. I'm buying my books next week, and not really looking forward to that , I know it will be a lot of $. I have been out of school for 10 years, and didn't remember how expensive it was!!!!!

Hi, I am a full time student which means I am doing the whole program at the same time. I have done two classes. I did my psy course and I took Algerba 1 for my elective. My first semester looks like this

A&P1

Health & Nutrition

Nursing 101

I have all my GE's and pre's out of the way, and got my packet from the RN program with the list of books needed for the entire program. Some aren't needed right away, and some on the list were recomended and then turns out required in a later semester.

I went online and scoured the books sites -- half.com, amazon, etc. and ended up saving big on some of them. The ones I couldn't find or were the same price as in the bookstore I decided to buy on campus. If I found a great deal on a book that was needed for a later semester, I bought it too. I saved $40 on one book!

BE CAREFUL you get the exact editions you need though as editions change and my program stated that they expect us to have the current edition. I had been in a program in another State, and had to quit due to health reasons and found out that NONE of my previous books are of use. So I had to buy all over again 2 years later

Good luck, books are a major expense.

vsummer1, hello and welcome! all the best to you!

I haven't bought my books yet but I've priced what I need for the fall and fortunately it will only be around $100. Mainly because I've already completed all the general ed stuff so my semester is rather light with only two 1 credit hour nursing courses. Next semester may be another story but let's not think about that right now.

I'm curious, sarahstudent, how many books did you get for your $1000 investment?????

I think I got 18 or 19 books. I purchased for my whole year of schooling.
