I am SO mad.

A girl from nursing school that I have as a friend on Facebook made a post and checked-in/tagged her clinical rotation. She proceeded to post within the check-in that the smell of gangrene was nasty as ****. In her comments she said she could not wait to get HIM out of the hospital.

This brings disgust to me. I am guilty of sharing my clinical woes with my mom in confidence but this girl is posting information with her NAME ... PIC ... While .... While .... Tagging the facility and speaking incredibly ill of a patient.

What if that was MY grandpa? What if this man is about to lose his limb or what is left of a residual limb?

There's a difference between venting and being a complete disrespect to the profession.

I don't know if I am overreacting but it does make me slightly upset.

Holy moly! Hello violation city! I would definitely talk to her if you're on good terms. But if not, then you should report her.

My school is very adamant about keeping your FB private, not posting pics of yourself or classmates in uniform, discussing your clinical, etc. I have a blog about my nursing school experience and NS in general, but I keep myself anonymous and never discuss classmates, clinical, instructors, and the like.

Not only is that unacceptable for nursing school, but there is a chance the facility can see this post and take action. Clinical sites are hard to obtain. If the facility finds out students are doing this, they may drop their agreement with the school!

Wow that is terrible, we are told not to use social media or you can be asked to leave the program. I agree with many on here, you should approach her, and talk to her about this.

Yup, de friend her ASAP. In my program, that would be grounds for immediate dismissal.

She sounds like a crazy girl. There is a difference between writing something about clinical and disrespecting a patient.

Create an anonymous email and turn her into your professors.

I've made my decision. If admins could close the thread I would appreciate it. I came for advice and have received plenty and made up my mind.

can she spell HIPAA???? People have lost their license for less than this. STAY AWAY from her. In fact, I would be tempted to alert the school. They could have a huge liability issue on their hands.
