How realistic is this?

Hello everyone. This is my first time using this website and from what I see it looks like it can be extremely helpful. So here goes...

I am attempting to get into a nursing program Fall 2003. Originally, I was going to go for my BSN but I think I'll do ADN, get a job, and then possibly go back for the BSN.

I spoke with a counselor at the community college I am considering applying to and she informed me that I must complete Chemistry, A&P I &II, and Microbiology by the end of Spring/Summer 2003. If I do this I will be considered a priority III. The past 2 years they have had 220 openings into the program and have accepted all priorities (I, II & III).

Chemistry is a pre-req for A&P and Micro. I am registered to take Chem Winter 2003. My question is: How realistic is it that I can take AND pass A&P I Spring 2003 (8 weeks), A&PII Summer 2003 (8 weeks), and Microbiology Spring/Summer (15 weeks).

I am an excellent student, and do not have a problem taking care of business. However, I have never taken a course, let alone 3, in the Spring/Summer session.

Thank you in advance for all of your advice/suggestions. :kiss

I took A&P II and Micro together and got A's in both. It can be done but you MUST be organized and make time to study :)

You can do it! It'll definitely take lots of study time, organization and drive, but if this is what you want, you'll make it happen. Good luck and I'll bet you will do just great! :)

Definitely doable! I think taking those classes together won't be so bad because there will be some overlap in the material. I took chemistry and microbiology together and the chemistry class helped me with my micro class. Good luck! I think you can do it!

I did A&P I & II in the summer with some other classes .... very doable .... everything is so fast that you don't have time to forget stuff before the test.

Good luck!

I took both my A&P's in the summer, B's in both, and am gonna finish Micro this semester with an A.

It's tough, but if you're determined enough, you can do it!

Best of luck!

Keep us posted, and WELCOME!!!

It most certainly can be done; just make sure you have plenty of time to STUDY!

Good luck and welcome to the board!

Hi there,

Very do-able especially if you are just taking one at a time, al-be- it in a condensed period of time.

I did A&PI in 10 weeks compared to the normal 15. It was a lot of information to get through in only 10 weeks but I got an A in it and if I could I would actually take A&PII in a condensed period of time too. I actually think it was easier for me in the 10 week session because the information was always fresh in my mind, especially for exams and finals. Also, it is kind of nice to know at the beginning of the semester you are just going to run quickly right through all the material and in just a few short weeks will be done with the class.

You will find some overlap with Chemistry and A&P and Micro.

Good Luck, I'm sure you will do fine.
