I am just looking up the needed books for the fall semester. My A & P1 lab class requires:

A.D.A.M. Interactive Anatomy Student Lab Guide - Lafferty 2nd ed.

Anatomy & Physiology (Lab) by Marieb

Photographic Atlas/Anatomy & Physiology Lab - Van Der Graf 5th ed.

Optional:

Anatomy Coloring Book - Kapit 3rd ed.

Doesn't this seem like a lot of books for one lab class?

Specializes in Case Mgt, Cardiac, SICU, PCU, Med/Surg.

Well I am taking the lab with the class....and those are my exact requirements for the lab as well.....I think I will hold off on buying the coloring book until I see how the first class/lab goes - but yes!!! It does seem like an awlful lot for just the lab portion....and to be honest, when I went on line to look at them, they all had basically the same info.....

I didn't find the coloring book helpful. The atlas is just pictures of the bones to help with locations, mine was only about 25 pages.

Specializes in Emergency Dept, M/S.

Those are what I had for my online A&P 1 class. But it went so quickly that I never used the coloring books, nor the study guide which was as big as the A&P book itself!

That's similar to what we needed (minus the coloring book, which I bought anyway). The Photographic Atlas is cool; my kids really like looking at it. :chuckle I've used A.D.A.M. exactly ONCE (my class is half over). The lab book is okay for doign the labs, but it's pretty much the same info as in the text. We're also using Marieb - are you taking it through Rio, by chance?

No. I'm taking it at my CC. So, I will be purchasing these books but will most likely not use them very much. What a waste of money.

i'll be taking A&P 1 next semester and it has 3 texts listed also! I've already got the coloring books, and i've been using them (studying for the bio part of my assessment exam).

You would think that one text should be sufficient, but no....2, 3 even 4 texts! lol

Good luck!

If you think that's excessive, wait until you buying nursing books! Eek! :)

Our original book list for 3 classes had 22 books listed, but since school has begun they've added an addition 3 required ones and 2 optional.
