Just thought I'd check in to see how everyone was doing thus far. I know it has only been about one month, but a lot has occurred since the start. Are you all still have the same level of excitement that you did prior to school beginning. As for me I am doing well thus far and hope and pray to keep it up. The syllabus has become my friend as I find myself reviewing a week ahead to familiarize myself with the material as it will serve as a review for me when actually discussed in class. I look forward to hearing how things are going with everyone.

Stay positive, focused, and prayerful, and things will work out in you favor!

Things are going great. 2 exams down and I did well on them. First Skills Checkoff on Vital signs went well. 2nd Skills check off this coming week on sterile gloving and sterile dressing. Still struggling with getting the 2nd glove on without it rolling but I'm working on it. All I've done today is practice putting on this glove and taking it off. LOL. I think I'm just so scared of it rolling that I'm taking way too long to put that second glove on. But other than that I'm prepared. I've got setting up my sterile field and not crossing it down pat. I know if the 2nd glove rolls, I can call it a break in the sterile technique and as long as I acknowledge the break I'd still be successful with this checkoff, but durn it I want to put this glove on without it rolling!

I start clinicals this coming week, super excited about that but it means things have been kicked up a notch since I won't have those 2 days off to study all day anymore. Will have to adjust my study schedule. Its busy! I don't have time for anything outside of school but I don't mind.

I'm scared, actually.

I am doing fair. I have been scoring B's thus far and I want better. As far as skills, we are inserting Catheter's, Nasogastric tube,Enema's,etc... I love it! I am going to study harder because maybe im not studying hard enough.. The toughest class thus far is Fundamentals. Which class is the toughest for you guys. I have been praying everyday for god to help me through this. The nursing program is very time consuming. I guess all we can do is take it one :yeah:day at a time. Also, I made a promise to myself not to complain about anything and that has really helped.

Not complaining that is my new goal for the semester. I am so sick of everyone complaining about everything we do in our nursing program. I am now complaining about complaining....

Semester is tough with clinicals at hospital. Pharm online and Med-Surg lurking. Very technical this semester but loved the catheter check off! Haven't done it to a real patient yet. At this point I see that we have learned so much in so little time but much more to go.

So far, so good. I'm getting an A in my Fundamentals class and we'll take the final for it next week. Then on to Med-surg!!

ill let you know when school starts in the spring semester next month.

Well I was successful on my checkoff, yayy me!! - I'm thinking I'm starting to relax a bit finally!!! - Don't want to get over confident but I've been a bundle nerves since school started. After 2 exams and 2 checkoffs, my confidence is up. Yes nursing school is tough, but I'm telling myself just keep working like you have and it will be alright.

All the best to everyone!
