Getting a new look for school!

I am so excited about being accepted and starting school on the 25th, that I decided to go and get a new hairstyle and color tomorrow. I've worn my hair shoulder length for 20+ years and I just may get it cut short lol.

Anyone else going to make changes or anything similar?

I start second semester LPN program in 6 days! WOOHOO!!! I've cranked into personal mode majorly! I'm currently dieting to lose some weight (50lbs so far gone...I'm severely overweight) My hair is down to my rear-end. I can't stand it up in a bun or anything. I wear my hair to class and clinicals in two braids. On a dress down day I showed up with it in usual form...left down but curles....they were amazed!

I guess I'm a luckey one. I have naturally light blonde hair with strawberry highlights. woohoo!! So no color for me.

But I have been using those pore strips to get rid of the blackheads on my face, the lotion to battle my dry legs, and all this stuff I'll probably stop doing 3 days after school starts..lol But its fun to do it now when I have the time...makes you feel better about yourself.

My big feel-good preparation, was when I had to go get new scrubs, not because I wanted them...but because my scrubs from the 1st semester are WAY too big now! =0) WOOHOO!!

Can't wait to go back! =0)

My hair just brushed my shoulders and last week I had a couple inches taken off and had it highlighted (lowlighted actually) a little bit darker so that my roots wouldn't be so obvious when I'm in clinicals and too busy to make it to a hair appointment. I think I like it but I've been a blonde for so long ..... I am still getting used to the color I think.

Losing weight and getting in shape ... well, I've thought about it but just haven't made the supreme effort. I only need to lose 10 pounds or so but I need to excercise to firm up some flabby spots. I've talked to some girls starting school with me and we've decided to have study groups AND walking groups. We can gossip while we walk about class and clinicals thus leaving the study group time for studying only! Hope it works!

I have done something for a change, too. A couple girls/ladies I know had been doing weight watchers and lost a bunch of weight. I still had about 30 lbs from the pregnancy of my son, who was born 3 years ago. At the end of spring semester I decided to join, too. Well, I am happy to say that I have lost 17 lbs...and gone down a few dress sizes. Last summer at the end of summer I was at my heaviest...being 163 lbs. (Luckily for me I am 5'9") and was buying size 12's...well, now I weight 138 lbs and can fit into some size 4's!! My goal was to have most if not all the weight off by the time school started, and as long as I can get to 135 I will be happy. And I feel fabulous!! (even though there are still some areas that need to be tightened!):D

My hair has been the length that it touched the back of my bra strap for years, but I recently had it cut right above the shoulders. I like it, and it's so much easier to deal with in the mornings, but my husband said he likes it better long. Oh, well, can't please us both. :)

My b/f said he liked my hair better long after i'd cut it off once. Told him if he wanted to brush it, fix it, wash it, and blowdry and curl it that i'd grow it back out.

I grew it back out anyway after we'd split. I'll probably cut it again after i graduate.
