Found out today that I am on the next list

Oh well, the woman over the LPN program (first choice school) emailed me today that I was 4 points shy of getting into the fall program. However, I am now in the hold group who will not receive a denial letter because I can get in if someone drops out or doesn't respond to the letter in the time allowed. I won't find that out until July 29th. So I guess it's time to wait for the second choice school and see what happens. I will not know there until the middle of July, it starts in the spring.

I have worked in enough schools (med school and a university) to let you know that there is a high probability that you will get in. I currently work as a recruiter for a PA program and we sent out acceptance letters recently. Out of the 35 slots we had, 7 declined because they were accepted to another school, 5 decided PA wasn't for them. I don't know how big your class is but waitlisted students "generally" get accepted.

I am in my 3rd year of my BSN program. I was in a 2-yr rn program a few years back and was waitlisted for clinicals. I was number 150 on the waitlist (a first come, first serve deal) and was offered a space for the following semester! I turned it down but that just goes to show that life situations happen. Everyone that is offered a spot doesn't always accept.

You will be surprised at how many drop out or just don't show up. Hang in there.....

Our BSN pr3ogram is the same as some others here. You apply, and then WAIT it all out. They go by priority points (grades). Those who are put on a waiting list USUALLY end up beginning their lower divisional courses when they wanted to in the first place. In fact, the list is so long these days, they have nursing students apply 1.5 years in advance on beginning Lower Div!

Remember, out of all the nursing students who begin, 1/3 will finish. Thats A LOT of drop's from that list! I hope things work out for you, keep your chin up and think positive!
