Doing Well And It Feels Weird

So I did get in my nursing school of choice. It's been almost a month now and so far I seem to be doing and feeling alright. I've heard so many horror stories and to actually be staying afloat and doing alright seems off to me. (Other than my nutrition problem - yeeesh.) It is stressful but compared to some of my other classmates I'm handling it well, I mean we have had two or three start crying. In class. During lecture. One during a test.

I'm never happy with my grades now a days. ( A B? Whats that? We can do better!) but I have compared my high B to my classmates whom seem to have C's and low B's ( Program doesn't allow C's. You have one at the end of the semester you get booted out.) Everyone is really tense with lab checkoffs and DCT's but I haven't really stressed... Should I be more worried?

Since most people are currently trying to stop worrying, I would not suggest you start. ;) I'm almost a month into nursing school and I'm not overly worried either. I haven't even cried about anything school related, and that's rather unusual for me. I've been doing well on assignments and check-offs, and so far nothing has seemed too difficult. So I know what you're saying. But we do have a ways to go, so I foresee a few crying sessions in our futures (hopefully not in class though!).

No crying here either! It's not the material I have a hard time with, it's the volume of information and due dates and the mess that is Blackboard when it comes to all the information. :banghead: Organization is critical. I am working on things every day, I don't think I have had one day of no studying in three weeks. Our first two exams are next week, one in Funds and one in Assessment and Pharm. EEEK! I better get off here and get busy.

People hit their strides at different points. I do well in the beginning when I'm full of energy and excited and organized, and then I have my struggles toward the end when I'm out of steam.

I'm trying to remember the times I cried....

The first time was a couple months in after I got super attached to a terminal patient for the first time. I went home and cried in my driveway.

The second time, I cried when an term OB patient found out her baby was no longer living.

Then at the end of first year I was SO burnt out and overwhelmed I cried at school. Twice. For no great reason other than stress and exhaustion. And I rarely cry and it's never in public.

Anyway, every semester someone borrows trouble and seems to be worried that they aren't struggling. I'm not sure if it's legitimate worry of more of a way tell the world they're doing well without sounding conceited (if so, let it out! You should be excited.) But every journey has it's ups and downs. Enjoy the ups while they're there. :)
