I'm planning my schedule for next semester, and I have to take 5 classes. I've picked four classes already. These are College Algebra, Microbiology, English 101 and Art Appreciation. For my fifth class, I need the one with the least amount of work possible - so I don't lose my mind. Which of the following looks like it is the lightest?

Human Development

Nutrition

Psych 101

I'm wondering if it would help with Psych 101 that I've already taken A&P. So the structure and function of the nervous system and endocrine system - I already know. I also know ALL about the various personality disorders, mood disorders, etc. I can site Maslow's hierarchy up and down. I've read at length about the id and the ego, super-ego, etc. I've read Jung and James and Freud, just for personal interest. Is this alot of Psych 101? I am wondering if I think I know more than I actually do about psych 101?

A&P helped me with Psych 101. Part of my psych textbook went over A&P!! As for Maslow and others, you will go over their theories as well.

There is a lot to learn but if you are already familiar (as I was before I took the course), then this will be an easy "A" with lot of work attached. My course required a lot of reading, writing, and critical thinking. I took it during the summer and I LOVED every minute!! You sound like you will enjoy it too! :)

Yeah, that's pretty much PSY 101 in a nutshell. You should defiantely self pace it then, since you seem to know the majority of the material.

Human Development but only if you are Erickson's last two stages LOL.

I also would not underestimate Art Appreciation. When I took that class, I got an F on my first test...

Really! That is so interesting about Art Appreciation. I was thinking of taking it over the 3 week winter intercession. Thinking it would be a pleasant fluff class. What was so hard about it?

Psychology or Human Development. Of the two, definitely Psychology.

They key to learning Psychology is which Theorist goes with which theory, and the definitions, and that is pretty much all there is to it.

Human Development will probably be largely based on Psychology and Biology, so it will help to ge the Psych out of the way first.

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I agree I would take either Psych or Human Developement. I would not take Statistics...and I have heard that Art Appreciation can be quite difficult as well. But again like everyone else said...it all depends on the instructor. Good luck to you.

Psy 101 it is. I decided against human development because I know ZERO, literally nothing about the little people (otherwise known as babies or children). I'm aware they are among us, but that's about all I know about them.:rotfl:

Thank you all for the tips.

Psych 101 is easy, I usually studied off my notes and rarily read the text book. I got an A. But that was forever ago... Maybe I was just lucky.
