breakfast suggestions?

Does anyone have any suggestions for quick on the go breakfasts? Preferably something I can eat in the car on the way to school. I don't have much time in the mornings, due to the fact that I must take kids to daycare, school, & grandmas every morning. I'm thinking something to make the night before. That turkey sandwich sounds good. I had a really hard time staying awake in A&P this morning. I'm sure some of the problem was that I had not eaten dinner the night before or breakfast this morning (not to mention all the studying I did last night). I want to eat more nutritiously, I'm definitely starting to gain some pounds. Thanks for any info.:)

Diet Rite? I'm assuming it's available anywhere? How's the taste? I'm really bad when it comes to drinking soda.

Hmmm....dunno if it's avail. in California. It should be, as far as I know. I started drinking it @ my mom-in-law's house, and she used to live in San Fran. I can find it at Food Lion (y'all probably don't have those out there, though...), Harris Teeter, and Kroger. It's not bad. It tastes just like a 'normal' diet drink, and is priced about the same. I highly recommend it, from one soda fiend to another...;).

That grilled cheese sounded so good, I had to stop and make mysself one!!

Another good snack/breakfast is an apple cut in pieces, and a big blob of PB to dip the apple into---yum!

I never knew so many people liked Peanut butter :)

I believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day. So I always make sure its wholesome and delicious. I enjoy bagels so when I am going to be having a long day at clinicals I usually have a bagel to hold me over all day long. On other more relaxing days I enjoy muffins, fruity pepples, or pop tarts. I try to give my stomach and taste buds what they want so I can have a lot of energy for my day ahead!

Well, I went to the grocery store last night after lab & bought some goodies for breakfast. When I started unpacking the groceries, my hubby started sampleing everything. His comment to me, "You bought some good stuff this time!" Obviously I haven't been too imaginative lately.:) Thanks a lot for all the info.

BTW, we both had egg salad sandwiches for breakfast, & I've begun carrying water with me. Oh yeah, I did find Diet Rite soda, but I haven't tried it yet. Eating breakfast definitely helped, I was able to pay attention in class this morning!:D

I used to eat string cheese on the way to school (sitting in traffic). Not so messy if you just bite it and don't pull it off in strings. Has protein to last you awhile. Partner it with coffee or OJ pepsi and you're good to go. Apples and bananas are easy to eat in the car.

I, however, would never eat an apple in the car because there is the REMOTE chance that I would choke and there would be no one to perform the Heimlich manuever on me! Anal, I know.

A good peanut butter recipe- mix it with raisins and use it as a dip for apple slices. It tastes very much like a toffee apple.

Just have to say thank you to the poster of the reply that said they put egg dye in the water to identify the hard boiled eggs. I love it and why did I not thank about years ago?

Great tip

My favorite quick breakfast is a shake: I put 1 cup of vanilla yogurt in a blender along with six ice cubes, 1 banana, 1 tablespoon of peanut butter and a tablespoon of oatmeal. Blend it all together until smooth and drink - yum!
