I have the tendency to get nervous and my breath begins to smell. I don't want to be in close setting with classmates, n teachers during class and clinicals. Went to the Dr. N dentist they both said I'm fine. But I know it smells at times.

I chew gum n mints but I pop them like its a controlled substance. The spray is too obvious the tongue strips does not last.

Advice before I start school

hey Imsofocused,

I think I have a solution that might help with your bad breath. I used to be so self conscience about my breath. I started using this mouthwash called "ProFresh" around my freshman year of high school and it's been a lifesaver!!!!!!!!!! I am now in college and I still use it to this day. It's amazing!!!

Hope this helped you :)

I requested some info on it. How often you use it? If you miss a week it still works? Would I get just the wash? Etc...

Do you drink soda a lot? I know sometimes when I drink soda, my breath sinks a little bit and it's a little dry... Maybe carry around water, that seems to help me.

I rarely drink soda. It's when I get nervous and worry or stress out.

I think you should discuss this with your PCP and dentist...there can be underlying reasons you have bad breath.

Have you considered using a tongue scraper? I know it sounds gross, but it really helps to get rid of bad breath. I have a WaterPik that has a tongue scraper attachment and I never get bad breath if I use it...even when I wake up in the morning. No morning breath :) I bought mine at the drug store for about $30.

That sounds like an idea!

It is physiologically impossible to smell one's own breath after a short period of time of the change; remember how you no longer smell a bad odor in a room or neighborhood, because the sensors in your nose fatigue. Interestingly, one that does not fatigue is the one for smoke, probably because this lapse has some evolutionary preservation value. I digress.

If your physician and your dentist say there is no problem, you can believe them; they have had plenty of professional opportunity to be aware of myriad bad breaths.

Do what you want about mechanical or chemical interventions (better oral hygiene, tongue scrapers, WaterPik, etc.) but also put on your list a visit to someone who can help you with anxiety, since you seem extremely worried about this. Worth a shot.
