Backpack, watch for nursing program?

Hi,

I start a nursing program in 3 weeks.

I've been told that I should get a huge backpack. I was wondering what type of backpack you use? Do you use a roller back pack?

Also, I have been looking for a watch that has both the military time and a sweeping second hand. Does anyone know of any good watch brands?

Thanks!

Excuse my ignorance :( why should I stay away from a ticking watch?

Some schools, like mine and the OP, require watches that do not tick.

Thanks :)

I am just using a normal backpack with some padding on the shoulders. We were told that we wouldn't need all of our books in class. As for the watch, I have a Timex Ironman Triathalon that I have set to military time. It shows the seconds, and since it is already set to military time, I don't have to worry about converting the time while charting.Timex Ironman Triathlon Resin Digital 10-Lap Chronograph Watch - Women

I bought an $8 water proof watch with military time & second hand at Walmart a few days ago. I didnt want to spend anymore than $10 considering all the yuck we might go through in nursing school. It looks cheap-like a children's watch, but I like the fact that it has all my requirements and its impossible to miss since it is a bright neon green.

Hey everyone!! So I opted for a Timex Explorer watch! It does tick (doesn't sweep) but I love it. It has military time too. I wish that it sweeped so I could figure out pulses easier but oh well. I bought my watch at Walmart and it was on sale so that's a bonus!

I also bought a Swiss Army backpack from Target. They really have some great deals. Some of their Swiss Army backpacks this year are really small... But I got a larger one. And there were strings that were coming out of the backpack so I went to customer service and they took 15% percent off of the backpack so that was an added bonus. I think I don't like roller backpacks cuz I live in a colder climate. There's usually snow on the ground 50% of the time.

Thank you for everyone's advice!!! If I could still find a sweeping hand watch that would be great!!! I'll keep searching!

I despise rolling backpacks as much as umbrellas. Rollies help you gain thirty pounds of fat by forcing you to take the elevator. As for the umbrellas off topic. I use a regular backpack and carry the heavy book in my hands. You can do it by studying hard![/quote']

Some people have injuries that prevent you from carrying that much weight on your shoulders. Walking up stairs is not the only way to prevent weight gain in school. Exercising outside of school helps you NOT put on 30 lbs of fat. When you have to carry 3+ heavy books to class along with a purse, lunch and everything else you need it gets difficult to carry that much stuff. And rolling backpacks also have handles so that you can carry them up stairs.
