My school is going to start using this program this fall. I was wondering if anyone is currently using it in their nursing school, and hoping to learn more about it.

Thanks!

We do ATI testing. We have a couple of tests that are taken when you first start, such Academic skills and Critical thinking and then we take various tests throughout the program as you complete various levels. Then at the end there is a comprehensive test. There are also practice tests available to take before you take the actual one if you school allows. Just for fun I took our PN comprehensive test last month and got a passing score! The scoring on the tests is kind of weird. For some reason a 65 or 70% is considered a good indicator of passing NCLEX. (or at least it's some weird number). For example, on the Critical Thinking test I got an 85%, which put me in the 97th percentile nationally and gave me a 68% Individual Mean (but I don't understand what that is!).

All of our instructors like it and say if you can do well on those tests then you should do well on NCLEX. We also got a bunch of ATI books and they have a lot of good information. Before I take the NCLEX I plan and re-reading all of them!

We are going to be doing the ATI tests too. I don't know what they will consist of, but we have a test the first day of school (after orientation). Then we pick up all our ATI books and stuff. They say it is a big package. We paid something like $180 for it this year. We pay something each year, but I think it goes down a bit next year. I wish we could pick it up sooner so we can get an idea of what this first test is going to be be about.

Yes, we had a huge stack of books for this, but some of them are really thin. There's also DVDs. I think you'll like it.

Yes, we use ATI. Do you have any specific questions? Some of the tests are REALLY hard, and others are easier. The books are pretty dry; I've found the DVDs helpful in passing.
