Hi all! I love it here, just to let you know :redpinkhe. I am (hopefully) going to be starting LVN program in January (6 months YIPPEE!!) After a year of really hard work on prereqs and everything that goes along with applying! I have two school choices: Tyler County Hospital, Woodville Texas and Angelina College, Lufkin Texas. I would love to meet new friends that will be attending the same timeframe and program as me! I am sure most of us are nearing the "waiting" period for finding out if we made it in or not! Lets go through this stress together! My name is Beth by the way, four children, two boys, two girls, and one husband:yeah:all of which are happy that I am going to school. My husband just started his prereqs this summer to start LVN in January 2011! He wants to go for surgical nursing, I want to be right up in L&D since I kinda know a little about birthing babies:uhoh3:! Hope to meet some new friends!

I got into both programs, and I went with AC, because I live in Angelina County. My sister went to Tyler County, and that was my original FIRST destination. Either way, a nurse is a nurse! I love my program and my sister loved hers :o) Good luck to which ever you choose!

hi so did you get into a program. i am currently attending tyler county school of vocational nursing in woodville tx and i absolutley love it.. hope all is well

hi i am currently going to woodville and i love it. my sister goes to ac and she likes it to. the only advantage we have found is woodville is so much more hands on and moves alot quicker it seems like. ihave done things my sister hasnt even done in clinical setting. but good luck on your decision they are both great schools:)

Hi, My wife is in the AC LVn program and she loves it!!! She actually got accepted into both AC and TC but chose to go to AC.. The program is ranked in the top ten in the state of Texas. My sister in law went TC Woodville. I think in the long run you'll find going to AC is better because you a get a more in depth view from both aspects of vocational and academic. Plus when you finish you can transition right into their RN program and not have to work a year like you woSpuld if you went to TC Woodville. Also since it is a Hospital ran program most community colleges or Universities would rather you have work experience first before you apply to their RN or BSN programs. You do get alot of hands on in TC being that you are in the hospital setting but AC's clinicals also gives you a lot of hands experience as well. Most people go to the TC Woodville program because it is easier to get into their program. But to me I would rather go to an accredited college where I know most if not all my credits will transfer and I will be able to transition in a RN program without taking a break from school and have to work a year prior to continuing my education. I am also a Nursing student/major I have all my pre-reqs done for the RN progam but since my wife is in the LVN program I have to wait until she finishes before I can go into the program this is due to financial issues being that one of us has to still work we can not afford for both of us to not work . So I applied for the LVN program for January 2011 at AC and if I don't get in I am currently working on my pre-reqs for the BSN program at SFASU. Good Luck on whichever program you chose to go to.

Im really thinking about just staying with TC for the hands on learning.
