Our clinical group left out last at of clincals early, because our instructor wanted to take us out to eat one last time as a group. She said we could order alcohol beverage as long as everyone changed or had a coat on so no one could see the logo. Somehow it got back to the nursing director. We all got an email to meet with her. I am terrified!! Can I get kicked out of the nursing program over this?

Pull up the school policy and read it again. Did you violate it? If so, your best bet is to own it. However, IMO, I think that the school will pursue action against your instructor. This person was perceived as a trusted authority for your group. They'll probably chastise you and tell you not to do it again.

I wouldn't be surprised if the instructor was canned. S/he should be. Nurses don't go out drinking in scrubs or identifiable uniforms. Very unprofessional and reflects badly on the school. It's beyond understanding how a clinical instructor could think this was OK.

Your instructor might have crossed professional boundary a little. But other than that, going out for a drink after clinical isn't uncommon in my class. We are adults. Nobody wants to wear scrubs to a bar anyways, so they always change or wear a coat to cover up.

Plenty of nurses go out for a drink after work in uniforms or scrubs-- the folks coming off nights tossing back a beer at 0800 are well-documented, LOL, though they aren't wearing anything that identifies them as from one particular institution. However, you are in student uniforms and adults or not, should not be drinking in uniforms that identify you as part of your program. Very poor judgment on the part of your instructor.

Our group has a meeting with the director, I am just so terrified.

But they don't leave work early in order to do it ...
