just an informal poll, who is in an adn program & who is in a bsn program & who is in an lpn program? what semester?
this is not a which one is better. i think anyone smart enough to be in a nursing program knows they need to do what is best for them at the time.

Actually, I am in an RN and BSN program at the same time. No, it's not RN to BSN. How it works is that I applied to a BSN program at my school, and outta 300 people or so I made the top 72, so I went back for an interview. Well, they picked 36 outta the 72 to enroll in the BSN program. The other of us that didn't make it were invited to do this project CONNECT.
What happens is we go to the community college here and the university at the same time taking nursing classes at both places. I just started in August and will finish with my BSN in Aug 2003-BUT-I graduate with my RN in December of this year. I have to pass the NCLEX the first time by Feb 2003 to continue in the rest of the BSN program (from Jan-Aug 2003, we are just at the university, not the community college). Confused yet? The benefit is that I'll take the NCLEX next Jan, not in Aug when all the other BSN students that I started with will take it.
The reason this whole program was created was to pump out more BSN students, since the university only has room for 36, but in conjunction with the community college, they can increase the number of grads.
I think it's a good program, I don't like driving to 2 campuses, but it's ok.

ADN program, second semester.
JediJennie, that sounds like an awesome program you are in! Not sure if I understand how it is done, will you finish your ADN in 1 1/2 years and your BSN in 2 years? How many hours a day do you have class and clinicals?
