I just got my acceptance letter to the nursing program and there are no words to describe what I feel but feel blessed to share it with beautiful people who are reading this.

To know that I could share my struggle for others to read. The struggle of trying to better oneself' while balancing everything else around.

I thought that it was too late to start a career, because I felt that old due to comparisons..... but now I know that even at 26 y/o I can still accomplish this and god helping more to come.

Hey, there will always be a reason not to go to school. It's now or never! Good Luck! Nursing is a wonderful career!

Congrats!!!

Congratulations! It is a good feeling. I actually did not get the letter until I had been to orientation. I got a call and had to be at orientation in 1 hour. Someone had changed their mind. I was in my mid 30's. Their were a 5-6 people in my class around that age and 2 a husband and wife in their late 40's. We all made it. I like to learn and have worked in a few diffenent fields of Nursing. I loved the Emergency Room due to the educational benefits of constant learning new skills. But after 10 years it was time to slow down. But my being willing to learn and being verisitle has helped me. I am a College Health Nurse and plan to retire from this position if possible in 5 years. I wish all you lots of luck. Don't give up! Become friends with you classmates and help each other. That is how a lot of us made it. We would rotate homes to do group studying were we could relax, study and learn. Good luck!

Congratulations! I know exactly how you feel. I got my acceptance letter in September and it was honestly one of the happiest moments of my life. Enjoy it! You are about to embark on a life-changing journey! (And enjoy your free time now until school starts, because you won't get a whole lot of free time when classes begin!)

Congratulations!!! So excited for you :)

Congrats on your acceptance! Let me just say at 40yrs if age I never thought I would be in the position that I'm at in my life as far as school. I decided at 36yrs of age to go back to school. My Oldest had been in college for just 1 year. I decided to return back to school after being out for 19yrs. I obtained my LPN which has been added to one of my best accomplishments in my life. After completing the program, I took my boards passed the first time. Applied for Nursing school but was not accepted in 2010. Well I had no college credits and they only took my high school grades from 20years ago. Since Janurary 2011 I have taken majority of my nursing prereqs. I've been going to school none stop since. I've applied to two different community colleges and was not accepted. I applied at a local unveristy in Nov 2012 and received my acceptance letter this past saturday into Hampton University's LPN-BSN program. I understand and know how you are feeling. But the truth is---it's never to late to start a career. You have just begun and so have I.

Congratulations again on your acceptance!!

Awesome! You aren't far from me! I am 49 and start at Rappahannock Community College in the Nursing program in August! Congrats!

Congrats! It's never too late!
