A&P I Summer

Has anybody taken A&P I during summer term before? Any advice or tips for me? I start at the end of may with this and another class. I went today and got the A&P book to start looking over things.

Thanks,

Brett

I can't help you on this one, but just wanted to tell you that I'm planning on taking A&P I this summer as well. We're on the quarter system at our school, so it doesn't start until June. Anyway, I'm interested to hear what our fellow students have to say about this! I am only a "little" nervous about undertaking this task! :)

You too huh? :roll

I'm taking a&p 1 this semester and will be taking a&p 2 over the summer (8 wk. course starting in June) the onlyl advice I can give for a&p 1 is get a study buddy and study at least once a week (probably 2xs per week since it will be a shortened course)

It involves a ton of memorization...my book had a bunch of internet sites in it that were helpful with practice tests and quizzes, etc.

good luck

Although I agree with l_e_mae for the most part, you have to study A&P more than twice a week. Because there is so much material, you need to put time aside EVERYDAY. Also, while having a study buddy is good, don't rely on just that time to study. A better suggestion might be that you study independently and for those areas that you feel weakest, you study with your partner, who may very well be stronger, just as you may have strengths that your buddy doesn't. Yes, it is doable, but it will probably be one of your most challenging courses. I'm currently taking A&P 1 now during the spring semester, and if I hadn't developed good study habits and done well, I would not take A&P 2 over the summer (which I am). Good luck, and enjoy.

to a thread by Fox entitled "Summer Classes." It talks about this very thing!

(I'll be in A&P II myself this sumemr.)

Yep...a little nervous about it...but I think we can do it! :D

I'm taking Chemistry this quarter & am already developing better study habits. My goal is an A in Chem...which will be a feat in itself! Studying everyday. Driving my husband nuts saying things out loud (this morning it was the 1st 10 elements). But it's helping me. I'm also writing some specific things to memorize in a little pocket sized notebook & am carrying it with me everywhere I go, so when I have a minute or two, I can read through it.

I am in A&PII now, which is way easier than A&PI (in my opinion). I am sure you can do it. Whenever a class seems really hard or there is a huge challenge ahead and I am scared I always tell myself you can accomplish anything if you set your mind to it. It is true too. If you work hard enough you can do anything.

Last semester I took Anatomy and Chemistry  (after being out of school for six years). I missed an A in both classes by a percentage point. I was disappointed but this semester I have the highest grade in my Anatomy II class (98.7). Not to mention I have two boys, 3 and 6, and a part time job. I am thinking about Microbiology for this summer.

Good Luck!!!

It was alot of memorization. I suggest that you get alot of study cards, and buy yourself a vioce recorder and tape all of your lectures, and start learning the bones and muscles(all of them). Don't get behind, your thinking smart by starting early, and stay ahead!

Hey guys!

Thanks for all of your advice!! You guys are an awesome group! I am still debating on if I want to take this health and wellness class online or not. I will probably do it because it's only 4 weeks long. The A&P is 8 weeks. Have a good week everybody!

I am taking A &P I this summer and I just ordered Anatomy and Physiology Made Incredibly Easy and Anatomy coloring book and Physiology coloring book online Read in another thread here that these were good so thought I would get ahead. Another of my firends is in A&P I now and I have been helping her study and memorizing seems to be the key to this class and at 42 that worries me seems like that is harder and harder to do Good luck all
