Winter Nurse positions

Hi everyone,

Never used this site before but seems a good place for information. I am an RN and interested in finding a winter position (seasonal) on or around a ski resort. I am looking to avoid hospital positions, currently I work as a nurse coordinator for a camping and recreation department and would like to do similare but related to winter activities.

Does anyone know of or have done something along this line of work? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Might try applying to a traveling nurse group, see if they do perdiem home health or LTC placements. They are the only ones I can think of that might take a short termer. It costs a lot to orient and bring a new employee up to speed, not sure many places would hire for only 8-9 months unless through a temp. agency.

Urgent care clinics near ski resorts? I would think that they would beef up their staff during the season. As PP mentioned you could look into travel nursing. Also, possibly staffing agencies in the areas of interest? Good luck!
