Where do you nurse?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

I have a question for the polls I haven't seen here yet.

Where do you nurse, hospital/homehealth/hospice/nursing home/ clinic?

Second question what is your speciality?

Me, I work in a clinic where we deal with cancer patients from dr visits to chemo therapy and everyrthing in between and beyond.

Specializes in NICU, L&D, OB, Home Health, Management.

12 hour nights on OB (small hospital we do L&D, PP and Nsy)

I have worked everything fromnursery, NICU to Home Care and Hospice - always return to OB.

I work in a ER with three trauma rooms, seven monitored beds and too many BS beds. Just kidding, sick folk go to them to but all the BS gets stuck in them too!!

In a med surg setting we also have oncology pts. on one of our units. I am the DON. Do you have assistant nurse managers or charge nurses. I am trying to gather info on the nursing structure at different hospitals and settings. Thanks.

Community Hospital~~Extended Care Unit

Hospital-Psych Nurse

I work in Rural Western Australia about 600kms east of Perth, in the goldfields. I am a Hospital Coordinator. We have 120beds but due to staffing issues use about 90. We have paeds, med/surg, maternity, high dependency, restorative care, OT, day surg, clinics, x-ray and ED. My speciality is ED so I love getting stuck down there, hands on whenever I can. In March we are planning on opening a 6 bed psych unit.

Start my new job Monday in Home Health...... I have done it off and on for 11 yrs and love it!!!!!!!!

I just started Home Health Care. I miss the Picu and Adult ICC/CCU. I miss the back up of RT, and having other Nurses to hanbounce ideas off of. I think I will learn to like the independance. I hate the rising gas prices as all of my cases are twenty plus miles from where I live. Thank goodness I finally got a job, with the "Nursing shortage" No one was hiring. Weird Huh?
