I have a question for all you professionals out there. I am currently attending the nursing program at my school. There is a student in my class that has told me they are going into nursing because "I can't pass algebra, so I might as well go into something that doesn't involve so much math." My question is this....If this person can't pass algebra, do you think they even have a chance of successfully maneuvering through the nursing program and getting licensed?

OMG!!!!! :( Does he think nursing school is easy.????!!!

As far as the Algebra thing goes, my kids are required to take algebra and advanced algebra in high school. Can't graduate without it.

Yeah, what??! This really bothers me that people don't think you need to be smart to be a nurse. Granted, nursing is not rocket science, but remarks like this really irk me!!! Especially considering that there are some really, really smart people in my nursing class who probably could have succeeded at almost any career-- and they chose nursing! :rolleyes:
