What Patients Hate about doctors

The doctors who take shortcuts, and don't even read the the patient's chart, nor does he believe the patient. I dealt with person for over 10 years, and only got worse. I eventually renamed him and got another physician who has managed to help me because he believes me, and I love him to pieces

Another complaint is when the doctor gets the information wrong, and the patient is prescribed the wrong medication. This happened to me when I was being interviewed by a female who I thought was a nurse specialist. Little did I know she was working for the Psychiatrist who I refused to talk to simply because I had no knowledge my old doc asked him to see me, but never informed me. When I saw who it was, I decided not to talk to him, because he doesn't have a good reputation.

I recently learned I was 100% correct. He and his assistant both entered info that I was a schitzophrenic, and didn't believe I wrote a book. So I was put on Seroquel without my knowledge. Now I know why my shortterm memory is failing. As soon as I learned this, I stopped taking the med, and I'm going to show what I found to my doctor next month when I see him, and ask for some aricept. I believe I need it now.:madface: I'm also going to ask him to never ever assign me to see either him or his associates no matter who they are ever again.

Both have happened to me.

Oh, I would possibly add: What Nurses Hate about doctors!

I know docs only have a limited amt of time for each office visit and that is not really enough time to fully investigate or actually listen....HOWEVER, I do know from working telephone triage, that some people will go off and tell you everything that happened years ago, and will interrupt you and imply that you are rude for not listening to them.

I have a big complaint about being diagnosed with "migraines" for 20 years and one doctor scanned my neck and found out I had Arnold Chiari I.

Separate incident: I told 3 docs that I thought I was having gallbladder pain and all said my pain was not in the right place and said it was reflux....well I ended up in the ER with a shredded gb with fluid dripping into my abd and had emergency surgery!

I see both sides of the frustration from patients and doctors.

Wow! What is the name of your book? Is it about nursing or unrelated to your profession? I want to start reading some books, whether fiction or nonfiction, about nursing.
