What exactly is "clinical experience"?

I'm a new grad and trying to figure out how to get a job that gives me good experience and balance my young family in there somewhere along with a husband who works full-time at a good job that he really can't give up right now... part of my goal is to eventually teach, and looking in the paper today I saw that RNs can teach nurses' aide classes when they have 2 years clinical experience.

All this to say that I was wondering if nsg homes are considered 'clinical experience'? Or are hospitals just that?

Any bedside nursing would be clinical experience, but it would be nice to get a good mix of the LTC setting as well as more acute care experience.

i think that LTC as well as acute counts, but only having ltc care and teaching those who will be doing not JUST ltc, really isnt fair to the student. if you plan on teaching, why dont you just call the school and speak with an instructor that does that now and meet and find out whats best for that facility!

"Clinical experience" is generally direct patient care, in any setting.

direct patient care and expirence with the medical field is usually what they look for.
