What basic math problems are involved in OB?

if you are looking for a hospital or other direct care nursing specialty where you won't have to do so much arithmetic and algebra, you won't find one. people having babies are often on other medications besides those related to childbirth.

there really is nothing to be done for it except to learn the math you need to know.

And what is something to take into consideration for particular, most used meds in OB?
Just a little curious, not so familiar with this field.

Med dose calc is what it tis, regardless of speciality; you either know it or you don't.

When applying for a new gig you will most likely be given an all inclusive pharm exam with perhaps another/ or section of main exam dealing with whatever area you are applying for/wish to work. So again you need to know the whole thing.

Aside from that remember in L&D you have two patients. One can be a female young as ten to as old as 50 these days, the other being an infant. Obviously dosages will not be the same and you'll need to know the basics such as Heparin.

So it's basically the same stuff as Med-Surg? Calculating rate of flow, drip rate, bolus, and so on? That's no problem. All I wanted to know was if there's special math problems involved in OB that I should know about.
