Maybe it is the stress that I graduate next month...but it seems like every time I come on here I see a tread each (some times more than one at a time) stating "I failed the NCLEX.!"..."NCLEX: 5th times a charm?"...or "Where are all the New Grad Jobs?"..."Graduated Nov 2008 still not job!"

Ew, it makes me want to vomit a kidney basin full of nerve and anxiety! :Barf:

You are not getting a degree or license for anyone but YOU so no one else's experience matters. The majority of NCLEX takers are successful.

I totally agree. You have already gone through so much with school. Just look at the NCLEX like it is another school test.

hello there!

i was so scared when i took my nclex years ago. i came here for support, too! i took the test and walked out the building and was immediately ill in the parking lot! (in retrospect it was kinda funny)

i didnt sleep for the days following, insistant i didnt pass.

but i did!

you have worked hard - the nclex is simply a test of minimum safe practice. you know the material. you know you know material. you'll be just fine!

i had a nurse from cuba tell me to keep saying outloud "i am an excellent nurse, i have passed my nclex" she also had me write it over and over on a crisp white piece of paper in blue ink - that way i was focused on my *success* - failure was not an option. i was reiteraing to my subconscious that i had already acheived my dream. that is powerful!

remember, dont dream it - be it!

good luck!

I read all those posts too, and they're just like the "Passed A&P with a B- on my Third Try" and "Rejected...Again..." posts on the pre-nursing forum. You got into nursing school, which many people aren't able to do. You're about to graduate, and a lot of your starting class probably didn't make it. Some people won't pass on their first try, but most who study and know the material will eventually. You might not get your dream job on your dream unit at your first choice of hospitals and shifts, but except for in a few really awful job markets you'll find a job somewhere if you try. If you need to stay off AN for a few weeks, do it - use that time to study, and then post that you passed! It's like when I worked in the restaurant business, and the adage was that when a customer has a good experience they tell one person, while if they have a bad experience they tell ten. Passing and getting a job is the norm, so not everyone runs to the computer to talk about it. Study, and you'll be fine.

I have always found this site to be extremely supportive. But, I also knew that for a moment I had to let it go when I saw that almost ALL of the NCLEX posts started to give me nightmares!! I missed everyone here so, but I also knew that this was a road I had to walk on my own. I just buckled down and did it.

HeartsOpenWide...I have faith in you! You will do what is best for you. AN will be here no matter what...we will encourage you if you want to post often to relieve stress and we can also hold down the fort while you hibernate! We WILL be laughing about this later, for sure! But, I certainly empathsize with your fear for now. That fear is still real to me, I remember it so well!
