Does anyone know the RIGHT way to apply a Unna boot? Ive been told 2 different ways and they are totally different. I was told to "fan" it as I put it on (creating something like pleats). Then I was told to just wrap it round and round the leg. Which is right? Ive never put one on. Also, is there anywhere I can see a video or pictures that shows how to apply one? thanks.

hi there i have had recent experience with the unna boots for my husband have spent the last month or so with it i was taught to wrap around and around starting at the bottom and working toward the top this is also how i have seen it done on my husband as recently as last week hope this helps tigger2sassy1

thanks tigger. I appreciate your response. Ive never applied them and I had a patient who had bilateral unna boots, one got soiled with stool and I had no clue how to put it back on. Every nurse on the floor had a different way of doing it and even the doc didnt know how to do it. lol
