Nov 28, '02Keep us updated Shelly!
I believe that I accidentally got a PPD with Tetanus last year. The worst thing I've ever experienced!
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Nov 28, '02I got the keflex on board, and I had a resident look at my arm when I got to work tonight, she agreed, said it was cellulitis, and didn't look too bad, yet, hopefully i caught it in time. I should have gone to the dr yesterday when they were open, but silly me, i thought it would get better! I had ice on it all afternoon and that seemed to help, it's an awkward spot to keep ice on it though, I'm just ready for it to quit hurting
Nov 29, '02Makes me wonder how often 'routine' vaccinations (or other IM injections) become 'routine' healthcare-setting acquired infections.
Anyhow, glad to hear you are taking the abx for it. Just an FYI: my infection was refractive to cephalexin and I ended up on azithromycin. I took plain ibuprofen and also Vicoprofen for the pain, which worked really well. For icing that part of your arm, try one of the Migraine Ice patches--stick them in the fridge beforehand--or ask a veterinarian for equine ice tape, which is made for wrapping the legs of horses but works really well for the upper arm. I couldn't get anything else to stay on.
Nov 29, '02I had one several years ago and it felt the same way. I used a heating pad when I went to bed. Moist heat.
