OP.............come back to us and explain a bit more.

You can get tons of pics on google.

Hi just in response to your quotes i just wanted to take pictures of the dining room and living room not the residents, or anything like that, i am not that sort of person, i did explain what it was for she let me take pictures of the bird cage, and she told me that i wasnt supposed to take photos of aged care facilities that i should know, i did before that no one thought anything of me taking photos i see her point but she should see mine to i am not a sick one either

and in response to cosper his right i needed pictures of the rooms eg dinning room activity room, i never said nothing about taking the residents, that never crossed my mind, but i asked the rn and found out so know i know and i respect her anyway i am finished there any how and i will always have those pictures as memories, mobile phones are really convinent, i can take it out my bag take photos no one knows, but as i said i know the boundries, and besides whos going to take notice of my photos anyway they mean something to me and for my work, but not to anyone else they wouldnt care less

Ah ...

I assumed, as I think several others did, that you were instructed to or believed you needed to take pictures of a resident, a wound, or something like that.

So that's what we all get for assuming ... ;)

I see no reason why you shouldn't be allowed to take pictures of common areas (not individual residents' rooms) -- dining room, activity room, etc. Although I agree that this is entirely up to the discretion of the management of the facility. It probably would have been best to get permission for this ahead of time, rather than saddle an individual RN with the decision when he/she may have been unfamiliar with any applicable policies/restrictions and not had the time to find them out for you.

Good luck with your studies. :)
