I just transferred from one hospital to another but they are both under one umbrella (Lifebridge Health). Im also transferring to a different department. According to the recruiter the pay stays the same and my benefits and all just crosses over to the other hospital. Is this typical? I just feel that i should be paid more..after all i have two years experience........Im i being unreasonable or does it make sense since its the the same company that they are both under?:imbar

I left one hospital for another and make the same. I have a little over two years of experience. Most hospitals have payscale system that they follow based on education and experience. Maybe in another 3 years I'll make a more than 30 bucks an hour but not now. Right now I make 27.11

Yeah, I think hospitals have set rates and bases for their RNs. Pay goes up with experience and education. Since you are within the same system, i wouldn't expect too much of any change. If you leave the system you may be paid more. However, negotiations occur when you leave the hospital setting and go into private practice.

Seems like a lateral move, same pay
Yeah thats what it seems like to me. My friend went from progressive care to the EP lab and didn't get anymore money.

Many times the only way that you can get more money is to leave for at least 6 months, then reapply. New hires almost always get more than the old employees. I know several people that have done this very successfully.
