Should I contact HR?

Hello everyone,

I recently interviewed for a job and was contacted by HR on Friday telling me that they were going to extend an offer but they needed to work on the "official" one. They asked for my manager's name so that they could move forward. They had 15 other offers they had to extend and since it was Friday afternoon, I was told I should hear something by Monday.

It's now Wednesday and still nothing. Would it be rude to call or even e-mail the recruiter to inquire about it? I'm waiting to turn in my 2-week notice to transfer once I receive my official offer. I'm really hoping to be off during my 2-week break from school so if my new position wants me to start then, that would be the perfect time since I will have nothing else going on. That opportunity is quickly closing.

I think you've been patient. I see no harm and only interest in the position if you call.

I would call. If they told you Monday and you haven't heard by Wednesday I think it's completely acceptable to check in and see where they stand in terms of progress. Best of luck.

Thanks for your replies! Turns out there were some computer system issues so they were waiting to verify stuff. It still would have been nice of them to give me an update instead of me having to reach out to them but I officially got the job! :)
