Should I ask for alternative?

Hi all! I had difficult time working in this Rehap/LTC. For the last couple weeks I found myself so burn out and had made several serious mistakes. If you read my other posts, you probably know why. I am in the process of asking my Staff Manager to work less than I desired too. He seems to agree. The question is, I prefer to work in several units over the others. Should I ask if he could keep in the ones I prefer? I am new grad and feel blessing to have a job but terrify asking because of juniority. I don't want to sound so demanding. What are your input? I am calling him tomorrow so I need the right approach. I sure do not want LTC unit. I prefer my pts alert and oriented. LTC unit pts all are confused and staff there are horrible :(

if it was me?

i wouldn't dare ask for any preferential considerations...

especially knowing i had made "several" and "serious" mistakes recently.

i think you should consider yourself very lucky they have chosen to retain you as an employee.

good luck.

You can state a preference for certain units so long as you do it with the clear understand (and humble attitude) that this is just informational and not a request to jump anyone else's seniority. You can also put it in terms of what seems the best fit or where you feel you can make the greatest contribution rather than just what you like or don't like.

Best wishes.

Thanks for the input! I told him I need to go slower since I am NOT full-time. I am flex but was scheduled full-time. He seems to understand that. I guess I shouldn't ask for specific floor then
