Should I Apply for this Job?

Nurses General Nursing

Published

A facility in my town fired me over a year ago. I was a night shift LPN.

I discovered that I am down as a rehire. My old job is open and I am not applying for it. I won't be a nurse there again.

There is, however, a systems spot open - liaison between the users and IT. BSN preferred. Yeah, right. The DON doesn't have a bachelors'.

I have more than enough credits for a bachelors', have completed the course work for my RN via Excelsior and am just waiting for a test date for the CPNE, and have extensive experience and a diploma as a programmer and manager. After I get the RN I'm going to continue on for a combined BSN/MSN.

Should I apply? And should I go right to the department, where I know someone to say hello to?

I'd love to leave the bedside.

Specializes in Gyn Onc, OB, L&D, HH/Hospice/Palliative.
